How’s this for metachronic? The wonderful ‘Only Pieces’ by Here We Go Magic pulls Paul Simon out of Graceland and long drops him into a contemporary flurry of lo-fi bedroom folktronica, which in turn longs for simpler times - those 80s rhythms and that laid back ‘something’s happening - let’s have a cocktail’ attitude. And then, to add to the time-hopping ho-down, I now present the opportunity for you to listen to the song whilst gazing into the wondrous abyss of a magic eye - the quintessential 90s relic. And don’t even get me started on the elaborate history of the rubber duck. Yeesh -
