Monkton: A spot of hype-mongering
It’s the muso equivalent of clipping one’s toenails in public, but it must be done - I have not listened to the record the whole way through yet, but oooeee ‘Bicycle’ is good enough to share so here it is, a slice of Memory Tapes’ LP Seek Magic. You had me at track two.

Track three I flagged a little. And then I was distracted by that Vampire Weekend girl…

Oh the promise, the deep deep longing, surely it must be, it won’t be, why would it be? - this is what stirs when we go nay-cruising across the intranets, by which I mean picking our way through the debris of slurs and fanguish, dismembered legs and arms in the wake of the Vampire Weekend shaped hole in the wall. Somewhere, at some point along the line, it was declared that the second album of VW was not a subject to sit on the fence about… Me? It could go either way. Let’s wait and see. I like her hair, it’s kind of woooooshy.
Still aching? Ok. Well, let’s go surfing and you’ll soon forget all about it.
