Plankton: RE: A spot of hype-mongering

Whilst Monkton salivates over the mystery Vampire Weekend woman™, I think the rest of us have better things to be getting on with. For one, Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas appears to have fallen into a synth-induced 80s disco haze -

- and it’s a pleasant surprise to hear him emerge from the great production disaster of ‘06 older, wiser, and simply better; this track is a killer. Official hype status: buzzing.

All-in-all, Friday is shaping up rather well, not least thanks to the hugely anticipated Mumford & Sons debut LP Sigh No More. Yep, it’s here folks.

Giving it a spin for the first time just now, it’s hard to believe they’ve only been together for two years. The album has an elegant power to it - dare I call it stadium folk - that demands attention and respect; this is not just bluegrass, this is M&S bluegrass…
